Acne is a common skin condition and is often referred to as pimples, blemishes, spots, or zits. Although it can occur into a person’s thirties and beyond, acne is most common during adolescence, affecting more than 85% of teenagers, who understandably often ask how to get rid of acne. Aside from causing acne scars, its main effects are psychological, such as reduced self-esteem and depression.

In addition to medical treatments which can include medication (pills), or even laser treatment, there are also numerous natural home remedies for acne treatments and cures, such as masks and creams. There are also many commercial products available, including Proactiv® (or Proactive Solutions® made popular by actress Jessica Simpson), CleanandClear®, and SensiClear®.

Many of the over-the-counter skin acne care bactericidal products contain benzoyl peroxide which is typically used to treat mild to moderate acne. This article, however, focuses on a review of SensiClear® which uses salicylic acid as its main ingredient.

The SensiClear® website says, “SensiClear is a breakthrough 3-step acne regimen containing a Purifying Cleanser, Balancing Toner, Acne Treatment Lotion and a bonus Acne Spot Treatment Cream. These products can deliver results in just days and can help you achieve acne free skin for a lifetime!”

The SensiClear® Purifying Cleanser and Balancing Toner is to be used twice daily (once in the morning and once at night) and the Blemish-Free Acne Treatment Lotion is to be used once nightly when starting. It is recommended that if you’re going to use a skin moisturizer, you use an oil-free brand.

Consumer feedback:

“…Our reviewer applied it right onto her blemishes and noticed that it helped reduce swelling in acne, reduced redness, and most definitely helped with menstrual related acne…”
– Actual comment from Skincare.about.com

“…I love this product! It has not only cleared up my face, but has continued to keep my face clear and not oily….”
– Actual comment from Acne.org

In summary, it is difficult to say whether or not SensiClear® will work the best at helping you rid yourself of skin acne. This is because people react differently to various treatments. The only guaranteed way to determine the effectiveness of this or any acne product is to try it.
